Ogden police shoot at man during domestic incident

Three Ogden police officers were on administrative leave Sunday after they shot at a man inside a home.

Police said they were called to the home at 842 N. Dillon Drive about 11 p.m. Saturday on a report that a woman's 42-year-old son was threatening her and her husband with a handgun and had fired one shot.

The man's mother and stepfather were able to flee the home, and the man barricaded himself inside as officers arrived.

The man, who was armed with a .22-caliber Mossberg gun and a .45-caliber pistol, was also allegedly threatening to blow up the house with the gas line, police said.

Police said the three officers entered the home to speak with the man when he pointed his two guns at them. After the man refused to drop his weapons and threatened to shoot the officers, they shot at him.

No one was injured.

SWAT was called to the home, but the man refused to come out until a K-9 was deployed to subdue him.

The man was arrested on suspicion of a number of felonies, including aggravated kidnapping and aggravated assault on a police officer, police said.

The incident remained under investigation by the Ogden Police Major Crimes Bureau.

The three officers will remain on paid administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation.
