State colleges: No. 6 Stanford sweeps Utah in volleyball

The No. 6-ranked Stanford women's volleyball team swept Utah 25-17, 25-15, 25-17 on Sunday in a Pac-12 match at the Huntsman Center.

Morgan Odale and Shelby Dalton had eight kills each for Utah (17-9, 6-8). Setter Kendall Cygan had 15 assists for the Utes, and Kalee Kirby had 13 assists and 11 digs.

Inky Ajanaku and Jordan Burgess had nine kills each for Stanford (18-5, 11-3), while Carly Wopat tallied eight kills and six blocks.

"We did some good things," Utah coach Beth Launiere said. "Stanford is a good team. We just had our hands full with their speed. They played differently than most teams that we faced and that made it difficult."

Women's soccer

Kansas City 2, Utah Valley 0 • In Las Cruces, N.M., the Kangaroos scored two goals in the first half, and the Wolverines' season ended in the semifinals of the Western Athletic Conference tournament. Kansas City goalie Nina Tzianos made four saves.
