A man died late Thursday morning when his pickup truck veered off the road and into a tree in Taylorsville.

Unified Police Lt. Justin Hoyal said late Thursday afternoon that police still weren't completely certain who the man was.

The maroon and silver GMC pickup truck was traveling eastbound near 825 W. Meadowbrook Expressway (3900 South) at 10:51 a.m. when it veered off the right side of the road, went over a curb and into a grassy area where it hit the tree.

Hoyal said the victim was found dead at the scene of the crash.

UPD investigators are trying to determine if the man may have had a medical condition that led to the loss of control of the vehicle. Investigators did not immediately find any signs that drugs or alcohol were a factor in the accident.

No other vehicles were involved in the crash.
