You could call it the second coming at least for Carl Bloch.
Only this time, the Danish painter's works will be joined by those of two other European masters Heinrich Hofmann and Frans Schwartz when Brigham Young University's Museum of Art opens a new exhibit Friday called "Sacred Gifts."
The show features 20 religious paintings on loan from churches and museums in Eastern Europe and New York, according to a BYU news release. Many of the works have never been on display in the U.S.
LDS Church-owned BYU in Provo showed Bloch's works in 2010 through 2011, attracting one of the largest audiences in the museum's history.
The new exhibit will run through May 10.
