A traffic stop Wednesday in Summit County turned into a drug bust that netted more than 50 pounds of marijuana, the Park City police department reported Thursday.
Park City Officer Cameron Thor was doing drug interdiction work on Interstate 80 with the Summit County Sheriff's Office and Drug Enforcement Administration officers when he stopped a blue VW sedan for a traffic violation near Coalville at 7:19 p.m.
With the assistance of a sheriff's K-9, Thor uncovered more than 50 pounds of marijuana, as well as other drugs and drug paraphernalia.
The driver, a 36-year-old Wisconsin man, was arrested and booked into the Summit County Jail on suspicion of several felony counts for possession and distribution of the drugs, as well as possession of paraphernalia.
