Utah Highway Patrol troopers believe speed may have been a factor in a fatal semi-trailer rig crash ats the Interstate 84-Interstate 80 interchange near Echo Reservoir in Summit County.

UHP Cpl. Todd Johnson said the driver, 67-year-old Kenneth Groberg, of Clinton, was westbound on I-80 about 8:30 p.m. Thursday when he apparently took the I-84 exit ramp near mile post 119 too fast and rolled off the left shoulder.

The crash crushed the cabin of the big rig, killing Groberg, who was not thought to have been wearing a seat belt.

No other vehicles were involved.
