Police are asking for the public's help in bringing to justice the gun-toting robber of a Kearns convenience store.

Unified Police Lt. Justin Hoyal said the suspect, brandishing a black pistol, walked into the 7-Eleven at 4820 W. 6200 South about 8:40 p.m. Thursday and ordered the clerk to empty the cash register till.

The suspect, described as a thin white man in his early 20s, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and black pants, then fled from the store with an unspecified amount of cash.

Responding officers were told the suspect was last seen running to the southwest. UPD officers, assisted by a police dog, conducted an extensive search of the area but came up empty.

Anyone with information on this case is asked to call UPD at 385-468-9820.
