Utah held Texas A&M scoreless for 92 minutes before giving up the game-winner in overtime, and the Utes were eliminated from the NCAA women's soccer tournament 1-0 on Friday in College Station, Texas.
Allie Bailey scored the golden goal that gave the Aggies (18-4-1), ranked 13th in the nation and the Southeastern Conference champions, the first-round victory. Bailey put the ball into the left side of the net from 10 yards out and was assisted by Shea Groom.
Goalkeeper Lindsey Luke made eight saves, including a diving stop on a point-blank shot by Bailey in the 23rd minute, for Utah. Texas A&M took 20 shots to 12 for the Utes and held a 7-2 advantage on corner kicks.
Jordan Day made three saves for the Aggies, who will play Texas Tech, a 3-0 winner over Minnesota. Ashton Hall, Katie Rigby and Taylor Slattery took Utah's unsuccessful shots on goal.
The Utes finish their season with a 10-5-6 record. The NCAA appearance was the sixth for Utah, which took third place in the Pac-12 during the regular season the team's best finish since joining the conference in 2011.
