State colleges: Utah volleyball team beats Arizona State

Three Utes hit double digits in kills to help the University of Utah volleyball team overcome a first-set loss on the way to a 3-1 win over Arizona State in a Pac-12 match Sunday in Tempe, Ariz.

Chelsey Schofield tallied 18 kills, Shelby Dalton had 16 and Morgane Adale added 13 as the Utes won 22-25, 26-24, 25-21, 25-19.

Schofield, a Provo native, completed her 11th double-double of 2013 and the 32nd of her career with 11 digs for Utah (18-10, 7-9 Pac-12).

Dalton, from Moab, had seven blocks, and Odale had 16 digs.

BreElle Bailey had 24 kills for Arizona State (17-11, 6-10).

Women's basketball

Army 57, Weber State 51 • In West Point, N.Y., Weber State's Amanda Hughes scored 14 points, Regina Okoye had 12 points and 12 rebounds, and Des Ramos scored 11 in the loss. Weber State trailed by as many as 20 points before closing the gap to 3 with 4:31 to play, but the Wildcats were doomed by poor free-throw shooting, going 15-of-23 from the line.
