Three more Utah ski resorts are set to open this week, their snowmaking efforts bolstered by the weekend storm.

Snowbird Ski and Summer Resort will open Wednesday, followed by Alta on Friday and Park City Mountain Resort on Saturday.

"We've been working hard to prepare the mountain for the opening of what we hope is another spectacular season," said Dave Fields, Snowbird's vice president of resort operations.

Snowbird will operate Gadzoom lift from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., but terrain is limited to Bassackwards and Big Emma runs. The rest of the mountain is closed to all, including hikers, he added.

Because of early-season conditions, Snowbird is reducing the cost of all-day lift ticket to $54.

Brighton, Solitude and Brian Head Resort in southwestern Utah already are open.
