Mountain snow and valley rain will dominate northern Utah's weather through the mid-week, while southern Utah's forecast calls for continued warm temperatures and a chance of rain beginning late Wednesday.

The National Weather Service put the western two-thirds of the state under a Hazardous Weather Outlook, warning of accumulating snowfall in the mountains. Precipitation, both snow and valley rain, should move through the southern reaches of Utah on Thursday.

The Wasatch Front looked for highs in the mid-50s Wednesday, a repeat of Tuesday's forecast. Southern Utahns expected daytime temperatures in the mid- to upper-60s.

The Utah Avalanche Center rated the mountains of Logan, Ogden, Salt Lake, Provo and the Uintas at "considerable" risk for dangerous snow slides.
