Xi3 Corp. may not have the same name recognition as an Apple, Nordstrom or H&M, but the Salt Lake City-based computer company has nonetheless opened its first retail kiosk at the Fashion Place Mall in Murray.

The company produces modular computers for home and office that are about the size of a large softball. Their flagship consumer-based computer is the upcoming PISTON, which is aimed at gamers. It will go on sale for $999 beginning Nov. 29. It also will sell the X7A for $1,099, a computer for power users, and the Z3RO Pro ($549), a basic model that is the size of a paperback book. Those also go on sale later this year.

The kiosk is located on the west side of the mall in front of the H&M and Crate & Barrel stores.

"This is our first effort to go into retail," said Xi3 spokesman David Politis. "It has been successful. We're testing and evaluating in Utah, and we have been investigating and evaluating other markets."
