Salt Lake City firefighters quickly doused a house fire Wednesday afternoon before it managed to spread beyond one room.

The fire began about 3:34 p.m. in a home at 1382 S. Major St. (50 East), according to Salt Lake City Fire spokesman Jasey Asay. Fire crews were on scene within two minutes and had the blaze under control about 15 minutes later.

Asay did not know what caused the fire but said it did not cause any injuries. Firefighters managed to keep the blaze contained to one room — Asay did not immediately which one — though there was some damage to the attic as well.

By 4:30 all fire units had either left the scene or were preparing to leave.
