Crews searching for missing backpackers in southern Utah

San Juan County rescue crews are looking for five backpackers who went missing Sunday.
Details remain scarce, but the group was reported missing in the Elk Ridge area about 3:45 p.m., according to a county dispatcher.
A ground search is underway, which will be aided by a helicopter come Monday morning, weather permitting, the dispatcher added.
The Elk Ridge recreation area is west of Monticello and north of Blanding.
