The western two-thirds of Utah is under a Hazardous Weather Outlook advisory throughout this Thanksgiving holiday week.

The National Weather Service issued the warning beginning Monday, as patchy valley fog ushered in the new week in portions of central, southern and eastern Utah. After a sunny break in the afternoon, the fog was to return with nightfall.

That pattern was to persist right into the feast day itself, even as a urban air inversion added smog to the mix.

The Wasatch Front was chilly and will remain so. Overnight lows in the mid- to upper-20s were to precede daytime highs in the 40s Tuesday, mirroring the forecast for Monday.

Southern Utahns looked for daytime highs in the upper-50s and lows in the mid-30s under clear and sunny skies.

The Utah Avalanche Center on Monday rated all mountain areas of the state as being at "moderate" risk for potentially deadly snow slides.
