Despite Sen. Mike Lee failing to apologize for his roll in the government shutdown that, among other things, cost the Utah tourist industry millions of dollars in lost revenue, there are a few people who have suggested that he consider running for president someday.

If he chooses that option, he might want to take a leaf from Barack Obama's book. The president has issued a couple of halfhearted apologies for the botched rollout of the Obamacare website.

Lee may have difficulty making a sincerely contrite apology to the people of Utah, but he would look very presidential were he to do so while reading from a teleprompter and then following up by blaming the government shutdown on Bob Bennett.
