A man was in fair condition late Tuesday morning after being hit by a pickup truck while in a crosswalk in West Jordan.

West Jordan police Sgt. Joe Monson said the victim, in his 40s, sustained a cut to the head and was conscious and communicative when transported to Jordan Valley Hospital following the 7:10 a.m. collision at 9000 S. Grizzly Way (5200 West).

Monson said the victim was walking southbound in the crosswalk on the east side of the intersection when the Chevrolet pickup, making a left turn, struck him.

The driver, who told police he did not see the man until too late, was cited for failure to yield to a pedestrian.
