The vast majority of Utah teachers remain committed to enlightening, inspiring and molding young lives. But the number of educators behaving badly has steadily risen over the past decade. The increasing infractions, ranging from inappropriate use of technology to money mismanagmement to sexual crimes against children, have prompted the state board of education to update teacher conduct standards.

On Monday at 12:15 p.m., Jennifer Napier-Pearce discusses the proposed rules with Utah Board of Education members Kim Burningham and Jennifer A. Johnson and reporter Tony Semerad.
