If there's one thing to be grateful for this holiday weekend, it's Mother Nature.

She made sure at least one thing will go smoothly for all Utahns this Thanksgiving holiday — the weather.

Northern Utah travelers on Thursday enjoyed sunny but hazy skies. Those sunny skies, along with moderate temperatures, were expected until Monday night, when snow is in the forecast.

In southern Utah, it was expected to be all sunshine through Monday.

The only potential downside to Thursday's weather was the patchy dense fog in eastern and portions of west-central Utah in the morning, the National Weather Service in Salt Lake City said.

One downside this holiday is the state's air quality was listed at a "yellow" or moderate. Those unhealthy air qualities were expected through Saturday.

The Utah Avalanche Center also warned backcountry skiers that a "moderate" risk of avalanches remained Thursday for all of the state's northern and central mountain ranges.
