Utes should close out season with a win

There is a lot of disappointment among the Utes that they were unable to be bowl eligible this year, but I don't think that disappointment will carry over into a bad result for the Utes against Colorado. Utah should end its losing streak today and go out on a good note. Colorado's defense is one of the worst in the country, ranking 102nd giving up 213.4 rushing yards and ranking 104th giving up 261.9 passing yards. If anything else, today should be a good chance for quarterback Adam Schulz to get some more experience and confidence heading into the offseason. With the future of quarterback Travis Wilson unknown, Schulz will have an advantage going into spring ball against the freshmen since this is his third start in a row. In an ideal situation, the Utes would get a big lead early so they could work in some younger players such as receivers Dominque Hatfield, Geoffrey Norwood and freshman tight end Siale Fakailoatonga, all players expected to have bigger roles next year. Not sure Colorado will cater to such a situation, especially since the Buffs have found a little life under first-year coach Mike MacIntyre, and they could give Utah a more competitive game than some imagine, but I just don't think the Buffs are good enough to beat the Utes at home. - Lya Wodraska
