Park City-based Powdr Corp. said Monday it has acquired the television series "World of Adventure Sports Presented by GoPro."

The company's Powdr Enterprises subsidiary intends to turn the Emmy Award-winning series, which was broadcast on NBC and NBCSN, into a year-round program offered on multiple media platforms. The cost of the purchase was not disclosed.

Wade Martin, Powdr Enterprises president, said the program would increase company contacts with 58 million Americans who participate or are interested in adventure sports.

World of Adventure will have six hours of original programming on NBC in 2014 and eight hours in 2015. In addition, programs will be distributed extensively across NBCSN and digital properties, said Powdr spokeswoman Krista Parry.

GoPro, a California company that makes cameras that help people "capture and share their lives' most meaningful experiences," recently signed a multi-year deal to sponsor World of Adventure.
