Flight to Phoenix exposes entire plane to TB, passengers told to get shots

Add this to the list of horrible things about flying: widespread exposure to tuberculosis.

That's what happened on a Saturday US Airways Express flight between Austin and Phoenix, according to the local ABC affiliate. The station reports that plane landed and stopped short of the gate, after which paramedics then removed a man who had "active tuberculosis," according to a passenger who talked to the TV station.

After the flight, everyone on the plane was told they should get a TB shot, the passenger said.

A spokesman for US Airways wouldn't confirm that everyone on the flight was exposed to the disease, but did say that a the status of a man on the plane did change mid-air to "no-fly."

Luckily, there have been no reports of tuberculosis outbreaks following the flight. Still, the ever growing list of flying-related awfulness hardly needed another, literally sickening addition.
