Stealing a car is one thing, but when this thief found a baby inside she decided to quickly turn around.

Salt Lake City police say the owner of a van briefly left the vehicle unattended while it warmed up Tuesday morning near 800 West and 800 South. Just before 9 a.m., the 27-year-old suspect jumped behind the wheel and drove off.

However, she was gone only for a few minutes. Police say the woman, discovering the owner's baby strapped into a back seat, returned the van — just in time to be arrested by police answering a 911 call.

The suspect was being held in the Salt Lake County jail Wednesday without bail on suspicion of second-degree felony possession of a stolen vehicle.
