One of my main issues with President Obama is that while he campaigned as the great unifier, he has governed as the great divider.
He seems uninterested in many of us whose views differ from his. Perhaps the best evidence for this is the fact that after five years in office he has not visited Utah.
As your paper pointed out ("West Valley students want Obama to visit Utah," Tribune, Dec. 5), every president since Calvin Coolidge has visited our state. Say what you will about Obama's policies, but he is not interested in our "red" state. Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton weren't very popular in Utah either, but somehow they managed to stop by.
