Two offbeat rock acts announce winter tour dates today — and both will land at Salt Lake City's Kilby Court, 741 Kilby Court (330 West).

• Jack Name, billed as a "Los Angeles underground spectre," will play Kilby Court on Friday, Jan. 31. Name and his band will be promoting Name's new album, "Light Show" (to be released Jan. 21), which the record company describes as having "whiffs of young Brian Eno, Gary Numan, Chrome, ELO, Bruce Haack, Richard O'Brien (a la 'Rocky Horror') and Stefan Wul." Name is opening for Dent May. Tickets are $8.

• Synth-pop band Xiu Xiu will headline at Kilby Court on Friday, Feb. 28. Principal songwriter Chris Stewart wrote the music for the band's new album, "Angel Guts: Red Classroom" (to be release Feb. 4), after relocating to a dangerous neighborhood in Los Angeles. Tickets are $10 in advance, $12 on the day of the show. u
