Speedskater Heather Richardson made it back to the podium Saturday, finishing third in a 500-meter World Cup race in Berlin.

Richardson finished in 38.00 seconds for her first podium finish at the distance since finishing second and third in two 500s at the World Cup stop at the Utah Olympic Oval last month.

Russia's Olga Fatkulina won the race in 37.92, with world-record holder Lee Sang-hwa of South Korea having pulled out with a knee problem. China's Beixing Wang was second in 37.96 seconds.

World-record holder Shani Davis bounced back from an eighth-place finish in the men's 1,500 on Friday to finish third in the 1,000 meters in 1:09.59, while Joey Mantia - a surprise winner of the 1,000 - finished sixth in 1:09.98.

Fellow American Brittany Bowe was sixth in the women's 1,500 in 1:57.03. The Berlin meet is the final World Cup stop for the speedskaters before the 2014 Sochi Olympics in Russia.
