About 900 students at Ogden's Highland Junior High School could thank subfreezing overnight temperatures for an unscheduled vacation on Monday.

Ogden School District officials said a malfunctioning furnace forced cancellation of all classes in the school at 325 Gramercy Ave. as repairs were made to a frozen boiler coil on the school's heating system.

Classes at Highland Junior High were expected to resume as normal on Tuesday.

No other Ogden District schools were closed Monday.
