Getting a concealed gun permit in Utah is growing in popularity for both residents and out-of-staters, with new data showing more than half a million permits issued.
While gun enthusiasts attribute the surge to the permit's cheap price ($51) and fears after the brutal killings in Newtown, Conn. a year ago this week, anti-gun advocates say Utah permits are too easy to get.
On Tuesday at 12:15 p.m., Clark Aposhian of the Utah Shooting Sports Council, Dee Rowland of the Gun Violence Prevention Center and Salt Lake Tribune reporter Lee Davidson join Jennifer Napier-Pearce to talk about Utah's gun permit policy and whether the standards should be changed.
