Timpview senior Jessie Jorgensen was named the Gatorade Utah Volleyball Player of the Year on Thursday.

Jorgensen helped lead the Thunderbirds to the Class 4A state title. She finished with 478 assists, 275 digs, 197 kills and 61 aces.

"She's an unbelievable athlete and she can do absolutely anything on a volleyball court," Salem Hills coach Kathy Treanor said. "She can dig, she can pass and she can hit the ball so hard. She'd good in every aspect of the game."

The 5-foot-9 Jorgensen signed a letter of intent to play at the University of Utah next season.
