Utah's gymnastics team was one of the eight Pac-12 teams in the preseason coaches' poll released Thursday, with the Utes checking in at No. 6.
Defending champion Florida is ranked No. 1 followed by Alabama, Oklahoma, UCLA, LSU and Utah. Rounding out the Top 10 were Michigan at No. 7, followed by Georgia, Stanford and Nebraska.
Pac-12 foe Oregon State was No. 12 while Arizona was No. 17, Washington was No. 20, Cal was No. 22 and ASU was No. 25.
The Utes failed to make the Super Six last year and finished ninth, but the return of Corrie Lothrop and Kailah Delaney, who were injured last year, plus other key returners helped the Utes earn the preseason ranking.
"Our gymnasts have such high expectations this season that I'm sure they are anxious to prove they are better than predicted," Utah coach Greg Marsden said. "But I think our ranking is as good as we can expect given our finish last year."
Utah holds its Red Rocks Preview Friday at 7 p.m. at the Huntsman Center.
