South Salt Lake police are looking for a man who crashed into an S Line street car while fleeing from them.
About 6:30 a.m. Saturday, someone called the police about a suspicious male, said police Sgt. Mike McNauhgton. But the suspect drove away when the police arrived.
The suspect tried to get around an approaching street car near 300 E. 2200 South, but they collided, McNauhgton said. From there, the suspect got out and fled on foot. A physical description of the suspect was not immediately available.
A female in the suspect's vehicle was taken to the hospital with what were believed to be minor injuries, McNaughton added.
The street car is relatively new; the Utah Transit Authority launched the service on Dec. 7.
