Two things happened to Derek Roy on this play from Monday night's Blues-Senators game. First, his stick was lodged along the end boards while Roy was trying to play the puck in the first. Then, the stick was able to defend nearly as well as he was, without a human to guide it.
Bouncing around between two panels, the shaft of the stick was able to block a St. Louis pass attempt, as Roy looked on, confused.
Roy had two assists in the game (his stick had none), but Ottawa won 3-2 in overtime.
