Today's 2014 Sundance Film Festival trailer was six years in the making, and looks at presidential politics from deep inside.

Documentarian Greg Whiteley ("New York Doll," SFF '05) followed former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney from the first decision to run in the 2008 campaign, through to his concession speech on election night 2012. In an interview with The Salt Lake Tribune, Whiteley described how he had access to family meetings and private moments in hotel rooms, charter planes and backstage areas.

The result is "Mitt," which will screen in the Documentary Premieres section of the 2014 Sundance Film Festival.

The first screening will be the Salt Lake City Gala, at 6:30 and 9:30 p.m., Friday, Jan. 17, at the Rose Wagner Performing Arts Center. It also will screen four times in Park City, another time in Salt Lake City, and once at the Sundance resort.

And if you miss it at Sundance, "Mitt" debuts on Netflix on Jan. 24.
