L.A. theater kicks off Redford retrospective tonight

No doubt about it: Forces are working to get Robert Redford to get an Oscar nomination for his performance in "All Is Lost."

The latest evidence, according to the Los Angeles Times: A six-day retrospective of the actor-director's past work at the Laemmle's Royal Theater in West Los Angeles — along with screenings of his current movie, "All Is Lost," which has already earned Redford nominations for the Golden Globes and the Critic's Choice Awards.

The retrospective — a time-honored practice for lobbying Academy voters — begins tonight and runs through Christmas Eve. Here's the line-up:

Tonight: "Downhill Racer" (1969).

Friday: "Butch Cassidy & The Sundance Kid" (1969).

Saturday: "The Sting" (1973).

Sunday: "All the President's Men" (1976).

Monday: "Jeremiah Johnson" (1972).

Tuesday: "The Way We Were" (1973).
