When one homosexual-friendly federal judge overturns a valid state statute passed legally by the Legislature and the people of Utah, it's time for the governor and the Legislature to tell him to take a hike and stay out of our business ("Judge denies AG's request to halt same-sex marriages," Tribune, Dec. 23).

Utah decided in the proper manner that we would not allow gay marriages in our state, so that is the law. And no one can tell us it's not.

We are all dual citizens — one of the state of Utah and the other of the United States of America.

The states are and have always been sovereign over the federal government. Washington, D.C., and its judiciary should not be allowed to tell us what we can and cannot do. We need to send them that message loud and clear.
