West Valley City police on Tuesday were looking for a particularly bad Santa.

Public safety dispatchers confirmed that a man clad in a red-and-white St. Nicholas-style cap — and wearing a beard he'd apparently fashioned from cotton balls — walked into the University Credit Union branch at 2792 S. Redwood Road about 9:40 a.m. and demanded money.

The clerk complied, and the felonious Santa beat feet from the scene with an unspecified amount of cash.

Other than his holiday accoutrements, the suspect was described as a black man, 35-40 years old, 5-foot-8 to 5-foot-11, wearing light blue jeans, white shoes and a dark sweatshirt.

Anyone with information on this case is asked to call West Valley City police at 801-840-4000.
