The decision by one "activist judge," as Gov. Gary Herbert calls District Judge Robert Shelby, to overturn a law approved by the people of Utah regarding marriage between one man and one woman illustrates all that is wrong with our judicial system in America.

When one man can make a ruling that affects a majority of people, no one is safe, even those advocating same-sex marriages. We are no longer under a constitutional government established by the founders. It was this usurpation of rights by England that started a revolution.

Unfortunately, no sooner was the revolution over than unelected judges began to prostitute the laws to fit their own preferences. Thomas Jefferson predicted this would happen: "The judiciary of the United States is the subtle corps of sappers and miners, constantly working underground to undermine the foundation of our confederated fabric. At the establishment of our constitutions, the judiciary bodies were supposed to be the most helpless and harmless members of the government. Experience, however, soon showed in what way they were to become the most dangerous."

Judge Shelby violated this trust and should be impeached!
