Paramedics were called to treat a West Valley City 7-Eleven clerk for injuries after three men robbed the store and beat her early Thursday morning.

West Valley City police and medical personnel responded to the 911 call, logged by public safety dispatchers 3:44 a.m., at 2321 S. Redwood Road. They found the woman bleeding and bruised.

Sgt. Mark Moore said the three men stole cash, beer and cigarettes from the store and then took a cell phone from the clerk while striking her several times. She managed to break free and hide in a restroom.

The trio ran from the store and jumped into a vehicle, speeding from the scene.

Police were trying to develop detailed descriptions of the suspects from store security cameras, but initially they said the suspects were all Polynesian males. One man wore a gray sweatshirt, blue jeans, black boots and a dark cap; another suspect wore a black shirt, possibly a Raiders jersey, and a white hooded sweatshirt; and the third suspect was clad in all black clothing, including a hooded sweatshirt.

The clerk was treated at the scene and released.
