My husband and I are delighted to welcome so many newlyweds into our midst, and we wish them all the happiness that we have enjoyed. We would like to remind them and all their supporters, too, of the importance of getting involved in local politics and of voting in every single election.

Our district attorneys who did not need a federal judge's specific order to carry out the law — like Salt Lake County's Sim Gill, Davis County's Troy Rawlings and others around the state — will face strong opposition in their re-election bids ("Counties split on issuing same-sex marriage licenses," Tribune, Dec. 23).

Let's make sure these thoughtful public servants keep their jobs.
