Letter: Utahns will pay for Medicaid expansion in other states

So far, at least half of the 50 states have decided to implement Medicaid expansion under the Affordable Care Act, and all the citizens of Utah, willy-nilly, will be supporting that expansion with their federal taxes.

We shall pay for it whether we use it or not, so even mere expediency would seem to dictate that Utah, too, should opt for full expansion.

The only real choice available to our governor and his legislative task force is whether these federal tax dollars will be used to benefit not just residents of more progressive states, but also those Utahns least able to afford adequate health care coverage.
