Salt Lake City police were looking for a man who apparently tried to settle a beef with an automobile repair shop with gunfire.

Police say the suspect, described only as a Latino adult male, got into an argument with an employee at Chavez Bros Auto Repair, 1407 W. Indiana Ave., just before 3 p.m. Thursday.

An employee of the shop, who asked not to be identified, said the suspect was upset over a repair to his gray, 2002 GMC extended cab pickup truck. As the disagreement escalated, his pulled out a 9mm handgun and cocked it, pointing it at the employee.

The suspect then jumped into his vehicle and sped away, firing at least four shots.

"He didn't hit anything or anyone. Nobody was hurt," the employee said.

Anyone with information on this case is asked to call SLCPD at 801-799-3000.
