Lucy Biles put together an impressive running season last fall.

The Herriman junior won the Class 5A state cross-country title. She placed third at the Foot Locker West Regional before finishing seventh at the Foot Locker Cross Country Championships.

She can add Gatorade Utah Girls Cross Country Runner of the Year to her list of accolades.

"Lucy's greatest strength is her consistency," Herriman coach James Barnes said in a release. "There aren't a lot of girls who have won back-to-back state titles, but she ran with a lot of confidence this year, and she's the hardest-working runner I've ever had."

Biles is the first Herriman to win the award.
