Letter: Right to health care implied in Constitution

Lynn Price ("No right to health care," Forum, Jan. 5) asserts that "Nobody has a right to health care."

I would refer her to these words in the Declaration of Independence:

"We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness."

I believe that implicit in those words are the right to health care, since your life and your happiness depend on your health.
