An early Thursday morning fire destroyed a mobile home in West Valley City, but no one was injured.

West Valley City Fire Department spokesman Bob Fitzgerald said the 2 a.m. blaze took place in a trailer home at 4326 W. 3325 South that was vacant and recently put up for sale.

Firefighters were able to contain the flames to the home and a nearby car, which also was heavily damaged.

The cause of the fire was under investigation.
