The Salt Lake County Health Department opened a new vital records office on Thursday in the Rose Park neighborhood, making it easier for west-side residents to obtain birth, death, marriage and divorce records.

"If you have ever applied for a passport, enrolled a child in school or obtained a driver license, most likely your efforts involved acquiring a birth certificate," said county vital records manager Bonnie Francis in a news release. "We're excited to be more accessible to the residents of Rose Park and nearby neighborhoods."

The new office is located at the Rose Park Public Health Center at 799 N. Redwood Road, suite A.

It has limited operating hours, open only on Wednesdays from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Other vital records offices in downtown Salt Lake City, West Valley City and Sandy are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
