A man struck by a FrontRunner train earlier this week in Roy remained in critical condition on Thursday.
Roy police said the 36-year-old man, who was not identified, suffered a broken arm, broken leg and head trauma when he stepped in front of the commuter train Tuesday morning.
Witnesses said the man was distracted, looking at something in his hand, and looked up too late to avoid the train, which was coming to a stop at the Roy station.
Utah Transit Authority spokesman Remi Barron said the man attempted to jump out of the way, but still was hit a glancing blow by the train.
Earphones thought to have belonged to the victim were found at the scene, but police had not determined whether he was listening to music or a cellphone a the time of the accident.
