Here's the first part of the interview BYU basketball coach Dave Rose did after the Cougars' 84-72 win over shorthanded Pepperdine on Thursday night at the Marriott Center.

Like the Waves, BYU was also shorthanded because star freshman forward Eric Mika did not play. Mika is still nursing a hip contusion suffered in last week's 87-53 win over San Diego.

Rose discusses Mika's injury after the second question, and says the big guy just couldn't go during shootaround earlier in the day.
