The new comedy Enlisted (Friday, 8:30 p.m., Fox/Ch. 13) is about three brothers serving at an Army base in Florida.
Give it a chance. It's sort of dumb when it starts out, but by the end of the pilot I was laughing.
True Detectives (Sunday, 10 p.m., HBO) couldn't possibly be more different from "Enlisted," except that it, too, starts out slowly so you'll need to give it a chance.
Matthew McConaughy and Woody Harrelson star as Texas police detectives caught up in a gruesome crime. The narrative jumps around in time - 17 years from one end to the other - in each episode.
If you give it a chance, you'll want to see more.
