Today's 2014 Sundance Film Festival trailer the last before the festival starts tomorrow takes a musical journey on the streets of the town where Graceland and the blues co-exist.
Tim Sutton's drama "Memphis" centers on a singer, blessed with "God given talent" wandering through the title city on his own journey of self-discovery. He avoids the recording studio, is surrounded by a variety of characters while on a journey, the filmmakers say, that "drags him from love and happiness right to the edge of another dimension."
Singer-musician Willis Earl Beal not only stars in the film, but wrote the score.
"Memphis" plays in the Next program of the 2014 Sundance Film Festival. It's first screening is Friday, Jan. 17, at 11:30 a.m., at the Prospector Square Theatre in Park City.
