Quick, guess which is bigger: Utah or South Africa? How about California vs. Italy? Or Lesotho vs. Burundi?

If you're having trouble immediately guessing the relative sizes of those places, you may need MapFight, the web app that lets you compare any the sizes of two states or countries. And for some reason, this is addictive. I ended up comparing continents, states and countries for longer than I care to divulge.

It's also a simple app, but effective: South Africa is 5.55 times larger than Utah; California is 1.41 times larger than Italy; and Lesotho is 1.09 times larger than Burundi.

Enjoy.
